During my time taking cake decorating classes, I've met some really great people and become friends with a few as well. My friend Mindy has decided to start a local chapter of a really great organization that gives birthday cakes to kids who wouldn't otherwise get one. She's done all the legwork and even set up a website for the cause. I'm going to help her any way I can by making or delivering cakes whenever she needs me. I'm really excited to be a part of it! Here's a link to her website!

Pro Pics!
We took Joey to Portrait Innovations for his 18 month pictures and I think I owe those ladies over there a gift basket of some sort! Joey was absolutely impossible! He was way too busy to hold still long enough to get a picture of him. The wonderful ladies at PI chased him all over the place to get the few pictures we have!

Funnies from the phone!
So I just discovered today how to get all those pictures off my cell phone. Here are some of the funnies!!
5 days old and already not excited about the camera!

Too little to do anything about it! Ha!

The side eye!

Just learned to smile!

You're kidding right?

Me chasing after Cameron to put more pads on him! Can't be safe enough!

Squash again? Ugh...
Ribbon Wreath
I got this idea from one of the craft forums I go on. It looked pretty simple, so I decided to give it a try. It took a LOT more ribbon and a lot more time than I expected. I think if I would've read the directions a little better, I probably would've known that before I had to send Joe to the store for more ribbon. ;)
Anyway, this one is a Thanksgiving wreath. I think I'm going to try it again in Christmas colors and see if I like it any better. Here's the link to the directions if anyone else wants to give it a shot!

I've been bitten!!
So I've been bitten by the sewing bug! After my double success with the boys' quilts, I decided to try something off of a pattern. I loved this fabric, but I thought it was a little too "loud" for a piece of clothing. Then I got the idea for an apron! I love it!! It works out perfect since I really did need an apron for my cake decorating! So now I'm getting pretty confident and I bought another pattern today! I hope it turns out as good as the apron!! :)

Basket Cake!
I totally forgot to post this cake! This was a cake I had to make for a Wilton class. It's not really the kind of cake I would normally make, but it was good practice in case I ever have to make another basket weave cake (let's hope I don't!!). It was white cake with lemon buttercream icing, royal flowers and a colorflow butterfly. Yumm!!

Random Pictures!
This is my first quilt!! I've been wanting to re-decorate the boys' room (they share a room) for awhile, but couldn't quite find what I was looking. I decided to give sewing a shot and it worked out great! The boys will have matching bedding that isn't too babyish for Cameron and not too grown up for Joey. The whole room will have a "surf" theme!
